The teaser poster of Madhuri Dixit’s item number in the Ranbir Kapoor- Deepika Padukone starrer Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani ( YJHD) is out, and seems that the diva is in no mood to reveal her look in the song.
The poster was released by T- Series. They also uploaded the song on their official YouTube channel on Thursday that has Madhuri showing her back to the camera. The number titled Ghagra promises to be a desi number which will well be in tune with what has been working at the box- office lately.
In the picture, Madhuri is wearing a ghagra with shiny shades of orange and pink, teaming it up with a black tasselled choli . However, she may have multiple change of costumes in the song.
The music of YJHD has been composed by Pritam while Rekha Bhardwaj has led her voice to the song for Madhuri . The song along with a Rekha is accompanied by Vishal Dadlani who will be voicing the portions of Ranbir Kapoor, who is also a part of the song.
The five- minute song takes off with a note introducing Madhuri as Mohini from Agra.
The idea harks back to Madhuri’s hit dance number Ek do teen in Tezaab , the song that rose her to fame and superstardom.
Almost like all songs in YJHD, Ghagra too has quirky lyrics with a mix of English and Hindi words which seems to be the formula that has been clicking for item numbers these days.
Ace Choreographer Farah Khan has taken time off from her hectic schedule as a filmmaker to return to her original calling and style a few moves exclusively for Madhuri.
The number was wrapped up a week ago and the promos may hit the small screen in a couple of weeks, just in time to maximise the marketing overdrive for the film before its release on May 31.
When asked about it, Madhuri has called this item number a “dhamaal song” though the film’s director Ayan Mukerji and his creative team define it as an ethereal song based on folk balladry.
