eBay Valet is For People Who Are Too Lazy to Sell Their Own Stuff

eBay Valet

If you’re too lazy to list stuff you want to sell on eBay, then here’s an app that you might want to check out: eBay Valet. It’s like a valet, only instead of parking your car for you, it sells your stuff on your behalf instead. Here’s how it works: just take a picture of whatever it is you want to sell, and send it to your valet via the app.

eBay Valet will then take care of the rest, from evaluating your stuff and giving you an estimate of its worth to listing it and eventually selling it for you. They’ll even send you a prepaid box so you can ship your item to eBay. If it ends up getting sold, they’ll send you 70% of the profits–all for taking a picture.

You can get the app here.

What Will They Think Of Next: Pillow Spoon Rest

Pillow Spoon Rest

So this is a pillow spoon rest. There’s not much to say, because the name says it all. It’s basically a miniature pillow made from silicone where you’re supposed to rest your mixing spoon on while you’re busy cooking up a storm in the kitchen. You could use a plate, but then, where’s the fun in that? You could also choose to go without it and rest your sauce-laden spoon against the pan or bowl, but things can get messy pretty quick if you don’t clean off the spoon as much as possible before doing so.

The Pillow Spoon Rest retails for $7.99 and will be available later this September.

Equalizer Phone Case Grooves to the Beat of Your World

Equalizer Phone Case

What’s better than a case that sufficiently protects your phone from cracks when you accidentally drop it? Why, an interactive one like the Equalizer Case, that’s what! It’s made from tough polycarbonate plastic to provide an added barrier between your phone and whatever hard surface you might bump or drop your phone on. What sets it apart from other cases is the glowing display on its back that looks like a graphic equalizer.

The coolest part? It reacts to ambient sound or music, so the levels go up or down, depending on the current sounds around it–like, say, the sound of your voice when you’re taking a call or the tunes when someone’s playing music. It uses its own battery, so you don’t have to worry about it draining your phone’s power, and has an on/off switch in case you need to tone things down.

The Equalizer Case is available from ThinkGeek for $14.99.

Lonehood is an Attachable Hood That Turns Any Shirt Into a Hoodie

Attachable Hoodie

Hoodies might not be as big as they used to be, but they still add a little extra something to your outfit. Fashion aside, they’re also pretty functional and can come in pretty handy when it’s raining or when it’s particularly hot outside. They’re not exactly the most formal of clothes, so you probably won’t be able to wear them at the office without getting a memo.

So here’s an alternative: the Lonehood. It’s basically an attachable hood by StyleUno that lets you turn any collared shirt into a hoodie.

Attachable Hoodie1

Attachable Hoodie2

The Lonehood can be attached within seconds, either on the inside or outside of the collar. Its bottom string lets the wearer adjust the hood for comfort, and a clip at the front even lets you wear it with any type of clothing (even those without a collar) if you’re not afraid to make a fashion statement.

It retails for $25.

Frebble Lets You ‘Hold Hands’ With Loved Ones Who Are Far Away

Frebble

To say that technology has changed how people communicate is an understatement. Where people used to send telegrams and letters, we now send emails, instant messages, or SMS. Where people used to pick up the phone and talk to each other, we now use video chat and video conferencing where we get to see and interact with the people we’re talking to.

Taking things one step further are the folks behind Frebble, which look like modified joysticks that you’re supposed to grab with one hand as you would, well, a joystick. It let’s people “hold hands” even though they’re far away by communicating these sensations to the other party.

Frebble1

For example, when one person squeezes their Frebble, it sends the squeeze along to the other person’s Frebble. While they won’t exactly feel like a person’s hand, they do add a bit more to remote conversations.

Frebble is currently up for funding on Kickstarter, where a minimum pledge of $99 will get you one pair.

LiquidOff Spray Repels Water, Minus the Haze

LiquidOff

Klutzes, rejoice! If you spill stuff a lot or walk around carelessly into puddles of mud, then you might want to get a bottle or two of LiquidOff. As the name suggests, it’s a hydrophobic spray that you can use to coat your shirt, pants, and shoes with a waterproof layer, so your stuff remains free from stains.

This isn’t the first waterproofing spray to hit the market, but it’s one of the few that are water-based. Creator Harold Stewart got the inspiration for LiquidOff after babysitting his sibling’s kids and noticing what a mess kids can make Harold explains: “Trying to learn as much about the technology and its intrinsic properties, as well as learning how certain chemical agents bond to create a desired effect, was a process.”

He adds: “It was imperative for us to stay away from the use of aerosols (those are toxic and completely harmful for the environment), which just happens to be what everyone in this industry uses.”

LiquidOff is currently up for funding on Kickstarter, where a minimum pledge of $55 will get you one 375ml-sized bottle.

Perfect for Road Trips: Inflatable Car Bed

Inflatable Car Bed

Road trips are fun, but long-distance trips will take a toll eventually because cars aren’t exactly made with comfort in mind. Cue the Inflatable Car Bed that transforms the entire row of seats into a comfortable sleeping area for one person. It makes most sense to have one of these if you’re driving a van or something with more rows of seats or space, because you can’t exactly fit more than one person on this thing comfortably.

It’s pretty compact when it’s folded, so you can just keep it in the trunk when you don’t need it. The bed is constructed from high-quality PVC with a soft surface, which makes it more than perfect for on-board snoozing.

The Inflatable Car bed retails for $129.

Uh, What? Washboard Will Mail You Quarters For Your Laundry

Washboard

The Internet is where you find all things absurd, kooky, and cool. Washboard is a little bit of everything, although its name doesn’t give much away. It’s basically a monthly subscription service of sorts where they’ll send you quarters which you’re supposed to use at the laundromat so you can do your laundry. It makes sense, considering most people have to scramble and look for change when they’ve got loads to wash.

The part that doesn’t though, are the rates. Under the $10 per month plan, Washboard will send you ten bucks’ worth of quarters for $15. For $20 in quarters, you’ll need to cough up $27. You don’t really get your money’s worth, that’s for sure. Washboard’s campaign was up and running but they had to pull the plug because their concept violated their payment processor’s terms of service.

So for now, I guess you’ll have to stick to change machines or get your quarters elsewhere.
